It starts out *like* an instant messenger
Open iTabletop and you'll notice it starts like an instant messenger. Your group members and friends are listed in a contact list, and you can see each one's status. Double click a friend and easily send an instant message. Right click a friend and choose from many context-sensitive options, including inviting the friend to a Video Gathering. Choose to run iTabletop automatically when Windows starts, so you'll be in daily contact with your game groups.

Checkmark multiple contacts or even whole groups and click the icons below as a nice way to invite entire groups to a Game Gathering.

Use cool chat tools to keep in contact...
Chat tools are a staple of iTabletop and are perfect for quick, easy and unobtrusive communication. We've designed our instant messaging tools to be extremely customizable and easy on the eyes. Use them to get the attention of your friends before inviting them to a Video Gathering.
and view past chat logs...
Search through your chat logs going back up to 3 months. To speed things up filter the search by the contacts with whom you were chatting. Save the chat transcript to a file on our local PC if you want to keep it permanently.

Design your game by uploading maps, documents, character tokens, NPC tokens, music and sound effects, and even video clips to the iTabletop server. Add these materials to your Gathering, along with any web pages you would like to use for reference, such as the d20srd.org site. Place your character and NPC tokens on the maps, and create map revealers to block off areas of the map you don't want players to see just yet. Place music and sound effects, and any video cut-scenes you've added, and you're ready to invite your group! Your game is constantly saved as you progress through it - so you never have to worry about losing its state in case your computer decides to take a silicon nap. And you can pick up where you left off in any game at any time. While playing, you can even go to a particular map or web page or document, and click a handy button to bring all your players to that view instantly - so as the GM you have total control of the game. iTabletop lets you focus on playing your game the same way you'd play it if it was on the table in front of you - without distraction and without a tedious setup process beforehand.

Mark things up with powerful drawing, labeling and note-taking tools
iTabletop lets you setup your game the way you want. Some GMs just load grids and draw the game map as they go - using our powerful set of drawing tools. Others prefer to load up pre-made, graphical maps of their campaigns, and just mark the maps with notes and lables. Our focus again, is on simplicity and flexibility to let you run things the way you want to run them. We get out of the way and just let you have a good time with your group.

Add character tokens, NPC tokens, and additional props
Image tokens can be many different graphical formats, and if .PNG is used, it supports high quality background-transparent tokens. You make your tokens as simple, or as elaborate, as you want! And since all image tokens can have transparent backgrounds, you can even use them as additional objects on your map - for example furniture, treasure chests, etc. Anything that would benefit from being able to move during the game can be added as a separate image token and used in whatever way you want.

Create a rich game experience with music and sound effects...
|
One of the coolest things you can do is add music and sound effects to your Game Gatherings to create just the right mood. Hear medieval knights galloping on horses, the sounds of battle-clanking swords, and the warm ambiance of a tavern full of weary travelers. Just add the music or sound effect files right on to your maps, right click, choose Play, and everyone in the Gathering will find themselves immersed in the game atmosphere.

And even show dramatic video cut-scenes when the time is right
|
Upload video cut-scenes, add them to the map, right click, choose Play, and your entire group will be watching the boss get his lights put out. With video cut-scenes you can offer the right dramatic impact when your players achieve that important goal.

Load up helpful web pages
Add web browser backdrops to your Game Gatherings, and your players can surf helpful web sites together. For example, load up the d20srd.org site and have instant access to the SRD for reference during your game. Although iTabletop has a built in dice roller, you could load up any web based dice roller you wish. The possibilities are limitless with this powerful feature - it literally integrates the web into your games.

And add PDF rule books, character sheets - whatever you need
With iTabletop you'll dig being able to load up large, multi-page PDF documents. Use it for PDF rule books, character sheets, campaign settings, adventures - whatever is needed for your game. Use the built in drawing and annotation tools to highlight important concepts, and even use the Map Revealer tool to block out sections of the text your players are not supposed to see.
